La Casa Cubo is the hand crafted Torquay home of us, Libby and Anna.

Back in 2020 (remember that delightful time in history?) we were told by Anna’s mum about an aged beach house up for sale just around the corner.

Although outdated and overgrown, she sang a siren song of promises to the gardener in Libby. Both of us instantly could see the enchanting world we could create for ourselves here.

We spent four years living, loving, renovating and planting her gardens but life throws up changes sometimes, and we now we live in southern Tasmania and are doing the same things to our home there.

Because we keenly understand the delight and awe of living in and experiencing places that are beautiful and different as well as a garden’s joyful effect on our nervous system; while transitioning to life in another place we decided to offer La Casa Cubo up for short stays vs putting in a long term tenant. It has allowed us to maintain the gardens and keep it beautiful for us to enjoy when we visit.

Intentionally crafted to nurture, we worked a lot with second life and recycled materials, the majority of works been done by our own hands. We wanted people who visit to feel like they lack for nothing and are immediately at home (and in awe) when they arrive through our garden gates.
